Michael Rüppel is a German Krav Maga expert who has been dedicated to modern self-defense and Krav Maga since 1999.
Today, he holds a 7th Dan Black Belt in Krav Maga and stands as one of the few Krav Maga experts worldwide who has instructed Israeli police and special forces units, including:
- Lotar Counter Terror School
- Undercover Units of the Tel Aviv Police
- Yamas (Mistaravim)
- Shayetet 13, the Israeli Navy SEALs
- Metzada Unit, an Israeli special forces unit specializing in hostage rescue
In 2014, he founded the specialized Law Enforcement Program C.O.P.S., which stands for CLOSE OPERATION PROTECTION SYSTEM.
Today, he is a global authority on specialized techniques in firearms, knives, control, and handcuffing. Portions of his programs have been adopted by various units. He is also actively involved with law enforcement agencies in the United States, providing training to units such as:
